The San Jacinto Battleground is where Texas won its independence from Mexico on April 21, 1836 — in just 18 minutes. The 570-foot San Jacinto Monument, taller than the Washington Monument, towers over the battlefield and houses a museum chronicling the Texas Revolution from its roots to the decisive battle. The monument's observation deck offers panoramic views of the Houston Ship Channel and the surrounding industrial corridor. At just 8 miles from our park, it's one of the most historically significant sites in North America and an easy half-day trip that most guests are surprised to find so close.

Armand Bayou Nature Center is a 2,500-acre coastal prairie and forest preserve in the Clear Lake area — one of the largest urban wildlife sanctuaries in the United States. Hiking trails wind through three distinct ecosystems (forest, prairie, and marsh), and guided kayak tours paddle through the bayou past alligators, great blue herons, and roseate spoonbills. The nature center also operates a working 1890s farm and hosts evening bat-watching programs where hundreds of thousands of Mexican free-tailed bats emerge at dusk. It's a peaceful escape from the industrial corridor, just 10 miles from our park.

The Burke Baker Planetarium runs daily shows, and the museum's Egyptian Hall features actual mummies. It's 20 miles from our Pasadena RV park — a practical day trip for families and curious travelers.

Moody Gardens on Galveston Island is a unique resort and attraction complex built around three massive glass pyramids — each housing a completely different world. The Aquarium Pyramid holds a stunning collection of penguins, sharks, and tropical fish from four ocean regions. The Rainforest Pyramid recreates a lush tropical ecosystem with free-roaming birds, butterflies, and exotic plants. The Discovery Pyramid houses rotating science and history exhibitions.
